NCLB Guidance

The requirements of No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB) [Public Law 107-110], can be categorized into four areas: assessment and accountability, instruction, improvement and innovation, and teacher quality.

The following web pages contain recent guidance on the NCLB requirements:

1. Assessment and Accountability
Includes guidance on statewide accountability systems, Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP), and school/district intervention.

2. Instruction
Includes guidance on standards, English language learners, enhancing education through technology, reading, and students with disabilities.

3. Improvement and Innovation
Includes guidance on charter schools, choice, parent involvement, safe schools, and supplemental educational services (SES)

4. Teacher Quality
Includes guidance on highly qualified teachers, paraprofessional, and professional development
